Hi peeps!
You know what I really regret not doing when I was younger?
Of course there is the "Why didn't I study French at school!" or "Why didn't I become a Kpop idol (LOL)?" thoughts but really, every time I look in the mirror what I regret is....not putting on sunscreen!!
I have these brown sun spots on my cheek - and they look so out of place. They aren't evenly spaced out like freckles either. It just makes me so sad that I could have prevented these if I had just listen to my mum and worn sunscreen daily.
So today my post is dedicated to something which may help be alleviate this problem - whitening products!
I used to think "My face is pretty white already there's no need for me to use whitening products" until I discovered this ugly buggers on my face :( hmmph!
Anyways, the first product I have to show you is the Clarins White Plus serum. Recently bought this for A$105 at Myer Sydney City becuasec I was so desperate to make my face like porcelain ASAP.
It has a very light texture so I just put it on day and night after cleansing my face and using the toner. The scent is very floral - I like it!
The next product is the Lancôme Blanc Expert Ultimate whitening hydrating cream. There is this small discount cosmetics store in the walkway between Wynyard Station and Met Centre called Cosmo cosmetics and noticed that they had a shelf dedicated to sample sized products! How great is that? You get to try the product you want buy and only paying a small price - there's no need to pay a lot of $$ for something which doesn't actually work for you.
So I bought a 15ml sample for $12.95 and tried it as soon as I got home.
(Excuse the sticky tape residue - I took off the barcode hehe)
I'm not sure if it's normal but I had slight stinging sensation on my skin straight after I applied it...and then it died down and my skin was back to normal without suffering from any breakouts (phew!). The product itself is also quite light - not as heavy as most creams - but I still think its too much to wear during the day so I only put it on at night before I sleep.
The next product is the TonyMoly Floria whitening spot eraser. For those of you who are not familiar with Korean cosmetics, TonyMoly is a really popular brand in Korea for those on a budget because the products are quite good compared to the price you pay. This product won the best whitening product award on a Korean show called "Get it beauty" and it has been selling like crazy ever since. I managed to get my hands on them when I went to Korea in Jan. You can buy this product on Gmarket (click here to buy) for around US$20 (excl. shipping). You can also find it on Amazon.com and eBay!
It's in a pen shape which makes it easier to target the actual dark spots one by one. I usually put this on straight after I wash my face so that hopefully the treatment will penetrate into my skin better :)
Apparently there is this miracle product called Meladerm which is meant to be super amazing at getting rid of dark spots and pigmentation. But I'm yet to come across a good, reliable blogpost which shows a definitely before and after...I'm still skeptical about it so I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope the products above work a miracle for me! I am yet to see any real results - will keep everyone updated on my progress!
That's all for me today - leave me a comment if you want to ask me any questions :)
Toodles xx

Hi! Was it effective? I'm thinking of buying one. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Jobelle
ReplyDeleteWhich of the three products are you referring to? I have noticed my skin get better time, but I'm yet to notice any visible difference to my prominent dark spots! (although I admit I've been bad and not putting it on every day!).
If I had to recommend I would recommend the Clarins serum - it's so nice and smooth to put on!
The Floria Spot Eraser, was it effective? Thanks so much!
